OLYMPIC COACH PROFILE; Janneke Schopman – Hockey (Team USA)

Johanna (“Janneke”) Dorotheo Maria Schopman?is a?Dutch?field hockey?player who played as a defender for Dutch club?HC Den Bosch?as well as for the?Netherlands national team. Schopman was a member of the Dutch squad that won the silver medal at the?2004 Summer Olympics?in?Athens,?became World Champion at the?2006 Women’s Hockey World Cup?and won the?2007 Champions Trophy.
At the?2008 Summer Olympics?in?Beijing?she won an olympic gold medal with the?Dutch?national team beating?China?in the final 2-0.

 

Schopman was appointed to the role of Assistant Coach?for USA?in March 2014?and was a part of the coaching staff during Team USA?s gold medal performance at the 2014 Champions Challenge. Schopman will also serve as Head Coach of the Under-21 Women?s National Team.
