August 12th Summary

We started Friday with a game of Serbia vs China where Serbia won 80-72 being lead by Ana Diabolic with 23 points and Sonja Petrovic with 20 points.  China put up a good fight with Mengran Sun leading them with 16points. To China’s credit everyone on their team contributed by scoring this game.

Next we went to Canada vs the USA where the USA once again showed why they have been dominating their competition despite the amazing defensive effort that Canada put up.  The United States were lead by Maya Moore and Diana Taurasi with 12points.   Canada had fairly even scoring across the board when they did make their shots in.  This was not a good game for Canada offensively, however it was awesome defensively for them.

Finally we ended the day with Spain vs Senegal.  Spain had a great win over Senegal with a score of 97-43.  Spain had everyone score this game, with Astou Ndour who had 18 points.  Senegal was lead by Marie  Sy Mame with 16.  Senegal has not given up in any game this whole tournament so far their determination is great to see.
