Celebrating Pat Summitt

One year ago today, we said good-bye to one of sports most incredible women, Pat Summitt.

Patricia Sue Summitt, born 14th June 1952 in Clarksville Tennessee, passed away from Alzheimers on 28th June 2016.  She was the Head Coach of the Lady Vols Basketball Team aged only 21 and won her first game on January 20th 1975, coaching her last season in 2012.

Famous for her formidable coaching style, her quotes and of course ‘that stare’, Pat went on to win 8 NCAA Championships, 32 Southeastern Conference Titles and an overall record of 1,098 victories to her name.  With a 38 year tenure at the helm of Lady Vols, Pat raised the bar in women’s collegiate basketball every time she stepped on the court.

Pat has been a huge inspiration to the FCN and its founder, so as a celebration of her life, we would like to dedicate today’s #womenswednesday to her as we say ‘Thank you Pat”.
