British Coach Series – Lorna Boothe

 

 

Biography 

Lorna Boothe is a double Olympian and Commonwealth Gold and Silver Medallist in 100m hurdles and was also British record holder and Commonwealth Games record holder in this event.  She has extensive coaching and management experience within the sports sector.  She was a British Athletics Team Manager for 9 years including Sydney Olympics where she was Senior Team Manager.

Lorna got into coaching when her son Tremayne took interest in athletics.  She specialises in sprints, hurdles and relays and has coaches a number of young performance athletes to national and English Schools titles and international levels.  Lorna was a coach to James Dasaolu and Imani Lansiquot in the development stages of their careers and coached them to international Level.

She is the current sprints and relay coach for the GB Junior team a volunteer post she has heard for 3 years.  In 2014 she was the sprints and relay coach for the GB U23 European Team.  Lorna was also the sprints, hurdles and women’s 4 x 100m relay coach for Team England for Commonwealth Games Glasgow in 2014 where the women won bronze medal.
