FCN Partner with SPAR UK to support their sponsorship of British Athletics

Entering the Female Coaching Network’s third year in partnership with SPAR, comes a newly formed partnership with SPAR UK to support their sponsorship of British Athletics.  In January 2018, SPAR UK signed a three-year sponsoring deal offering a wide range of support to Track and Field in the UK until 2020.

As part of the agreement, SPAR UK will become the Title Partner of the British Athletics Indoor Championships for the next three years with the 2018 edition heading back to Birmingham on 17-18 February.

SPAR UK will also act as Events Partner to the end of 2020 to include the Müller Anniversary Games and Müller Grand Prix Birmingham, as well as the Müller Indoor Grand Prix in Glasgow in 2018 & 2020 and Birmingham in 2019. This includes supplying meals for the entire workforce, including volunteers. The sponsorship is in line with SPAR International’s commitment to encouraging a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise and fresh, nutritious produce.

British Athletics and SPAR UK have a proud history, having worked together to support promising sprinters in the past, notably Olympic and world medallists Martyn Rooney, Desiree Henry, Emily Diamond and European Indoor Champion, Andrew Pozzi. SPAR UK will now provide official backing for all top athletes on the road to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

SPAR has a strong history of supporting athletics with SPAR International having been the principal sponsor of European Athletics since 1996. SPAR UK will bring the SPAR Nutrition Zoneto British Athletics events, making athletics available to children of all ages through its SPARK Kids Athletics Park, which works with the Female Coaching Network. The sponsorship will also be visible across its network of 2,700 stores in the UK.

As part of their partnership, the FCN will be able to increase their reach and spread the message further of the importance of an equal coaching workforce and as they work towards their mission of creating  “A more diverse workforce of coaches across all levels, in all sports, from all countries.”

Throughout the season, the FCN will be looking for volunteers to join us in inspiring children from across the Country to take up athletics.  If you are interested please CLICK HERE to find out more.
