With only a few days to go, what are you focussing on mentally and physically the most right now?

I think at this point it’s mainly mental – we are still fine-tuning some of the details of sparring and continuing to work on cardio to ensure that we give 100% in the ring, but it’s also a huge push on figuring out how to get your head in the game come fight night.

For me, the nerves on Fight Night are really stressing me out.  The butterflies are already starting as well as a few “panicky” moments.  I am worried I will let my nerves get the better of me.  Right now I am really trying to focus on what’s in front of me, mentally preparing to focus on the fight, my opponent.  Physically, I am worried about catching my breath in between rounds.  I’m trying to find a way to focus on that and take advantage of the 60 seconds or whatever it is I have in between to recoup and be ready to go back out there.

With just a few weeks to go I’m really trying to focus on my fight. Lots of anxiety is stirring up inside of me, especially with all of the media attention that comes with this event. So my goal is to just focus on my fight which is helping me stay focused and grounded.

Mentally – trying hard not to overthink and just staying focused on myself and what I know I can do.

Physically – allllll the conditioning and staying away from injury
