FCN continue their work with SPAR for the Outdoor British and European Track & Field Season?

This summer, the FCN continue their work with SPAR for the outdoor British and European Track & Field Season?

The FCN team will be following the British and European outdoor track & field season in support of their partnership with SPAR International and SPAR UK starting at next weeks British National Championships.

Since the FCN’s initial event with SPAR International during the European Championships in Amsterdam in 2016, the FCN has worked closely with SPAR to inspire new generations of children to take part in athletics as well as create a variety of basic coaching tools to teach young children how to run, jump and throw. ?At each Championship, the FCN will be delivering a mini-athletics park to encourage a new wave of athletes and coaches to learn about their favourite sport. ?Videos, flyers and infograms accompany the park in order to help educate parents and new coaches in supporting their young athletes to develop and enjoy track and field.

“It’s very exciting to be entering our 3rd year of work alongside SPAR International and working with SPAR UK for our first outdoor season together. ?These events give us a great chance to not only educate and inspire children, but also to raise awareness of the lack of female coaches in the sport. ?We aim to encourage fans, athletes and parents to take up coaching who may not have already thought to do so.”

Vicky Huyton – Founder of the FCN

The partnership with SPAR also gives the FCN the opportunity to work alongside British Athletics and European Athletics to develop future projects to support women in coaching track and field.

The FCN team will be at the following events over the next few weeks:

British Athletics Outdoor National Championships 30th June – 1st July 2018

London Anniversary Games – 21st – 22nd July 2018

European Athletics Championships in Berlin – 7th – 12th August 2018?
