Looking Back at Our First Event in September…

During our first event, nearly 40 attendees joined us from all over Europe, Canada, USA and Uganda. It was a fantastic gathering of some of the sports industries most influential leaders and those aspiring to progress in their careers.

Tracey Archer (Sponsorship Coordination Manager for SPAR International) was our first guest as she shared her journey to her current role in sport, her day to day runnings and the challenges she has faced in navigating the industry as a Mum.

Karen Buck, a Track & Field Coach from the U.K. said of the meeting: “I’d like to say Thank you For tonight’s Zoom.  Tracey is so Full of energy and inspiring. It given me the kick start I need to actively launch SportsFun… It’s made me realise i need to take action and not find reasons not to do it so thank you.”

Meet Houda Loukili, a former Dutch Champion Kickboxer with a passion for getting girls active across the Netherlands. Houda took up Kickboxing as a young girl thanks to the support of her Father and fell in love with it immediately. Training 6 days a week, she saw a long future ahead of her as a professional fighter, until one day a car accident ended her career.

With a passion for sports still burning in her heart, Houda decided to dedicate her life to supporting young people from all backgrounds to keep fit and be the best person they can be both inside and outside of the ring.

Now, Houda is a consultant, coach and speaker, having worked with organisations such as Nike and the Kenniscentrum Sport en Bewegen (Knowledge Centre for Sport Netherlands) to advise on the best way to engage women & girls in sport.
