NEWS: Meet Nida Nazir, India’s first female football player-cum-coach (India)
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi a young girl from Kashmir has begun breaking into male bastions, even if it means taking to the rough-and-tumble of football.
Nida started playing football in 2007 when she was just 10. She faced many problems initially, but when her parents noticed her talent, they helped her in her dream of becoming a football player. Nida has played two national women’s football tournaments. Now-a-days, she is not only playing football, but also providing coaching to budding up footballers in the valley.
Nida hailed the efforts of the Football Association of Kashmir, which provided her all moral and technical supports. Nida has now dreamt of playing women’s international football tournaments.
