Team Scotland announce their squad for next years Commonwealth Games with a female Head Team Manager! (UK)
We would like to say a huge congratulations to Julie Mollison who has been announced as the Head Team Manager and Performance Director of the Scottish Athletics Squad at next years Commonwealth Games. She is also, the only female member of the team management.
Julie, who has been involved in track and field for many years, including competing as a thrower herself, was previously the Assistant Team Manager at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Since then, Julie has held roles with Scottish Athletics including Regional Development Manager for the Highlands and Islands and National Club Manager for the North of Scotland.
Whilst the exact numbers are yet to be confirmed, she will be one of the very few female Team Managers at the Games. Julie has been heavily involved with increasing the number of women in top roles in athletics including being a member of the UK Athletics Women’s Coaching Advisory Group and taking part in the UKA Female Coach Legacy Program. Julie has been an advocate for women in sport ever since; in fact, it was after a conversation with fellow coach and founder of the FCN Vicky, that the Female Coaching Network was born…
From all of us at the FCN, we would like to wish Julie the best of luck with her role and look forward to seeing Team Scotland success next year!
