Tracy Whittaker-Smith appointed Head National Coach for Trampoline (UK)

We are delighted to announce that Tracy Whittaker-Smith has been appointed to the role of Head National Coach for Trampoline. Tracy, who has been a key part of the British Gymnastics World Class Programme for a number of years, will start in the role in October with her first focus being on preparing the?recently announced?team for the 2017 World Championships.

British Gymnastics Performance Director James Thomas congratulated Tracy on her appointment, saying: ?Tracy has been an integral part of our World Class Programme and this appointment now enables her to really drive forward the ambitions of our trampoline programme towards Tokyo and then on to Paris 2024. Tracy has a fantastic working relationship with our gymnasts and is passionate about continuing to push on from the historic successes in Rio. Her experience within the sport at all levels means she has a great understanding of the challenges we face and the opportunities we have to make improvements. We are confident she will be a? fantastic leader for trampoline gymnastics.?

Tracy is well established within elite trampoline in Great Britain having been Head Coach and?Performance Director at Northamptonshire Trampoline Gymnastics Academy, Great Britain National Support Coach and more recently women?s and then men?s and women?s National Coach. She has coached at four ?Olympic Games and numerous World and European Championships.

Reacting to herappointment she said: “Following the history-making achievements at the Rio Olympic Games, it is a great honour to be appointed as the Head National Coach and I relish the challenge to build upon this success in to Tokyo and beyond. I look forward to working with the gymnasts, coaches, support team and everyone involved in the trampoline programme?.
